Callan Purcell


Callan is a proud Wiradjuri man who grew up on Awabakal country. In 2018 he graduated from The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama where he majored in collaborative and devised theatre. He received the Sir John Gielgud Award for second year actors and worked with associate artists of Kneehigh Theatre, The Wardrobe Ensemble, Engineer Theatre Collective and Complicité. 
In 2014 Callan participated in ATYP’s National Studio Program, where his work was selected for their production of Between Us. Other writing credits include Peter Pan (Hunter Drama), JOAN, Naked Bunyip Dancing (Upstage Youth Theatre), NED (Newtown High School of the Performing Arts). 
As actor, theatre credits include Fatherland (Frantic Assembly), The Rime of the Ancient Mariner (Little Eggs Collective), Equus, The Removalists, Checklist For An Armed Robber (Stooged Theatre) The Book of Everything, The Complete Works of William Shakespeare [Abridged] (The Very Popular Theatre Company). 
This is Callan’s professional musical debut.
